The IT Innovation Challenges, part of the University’s IT Capital Plan, supports small start-up digital projects that will bring benefits to the University. It aims to fund innovative projects which will enhance the staff or student experience at Oxford through digital means. Successful projects may go on to become full services or work with Isis Innovation on spin out opportunities.
The scheme sets challenges to encourage people to focus their thoughts and submit ideas for others to discuss. There will also be an ‘open’ category where you can submit any ideas that you feel could bring benefits to the University. If you and your colleagues have a great idea then send it in! If you don’t have an idea you can still be involved, for example by collaborating with colleagues, providing technical expertise or advice or by commenting and voting on the ideas presented.
The first challenges for the 15/16 academic year have now been launched! More details on the ‘Staff Challenge’ and ‘Student Challenge’ can be found at http://www.it.ox.ac.uk/innovation-challenges.
Please submit your ideas, join in the discussions, but above all share the news with colleagues and get them to register on the site and take part. The deadline is the 14th November.
