What can data visualisations do for your research?

Will Allen, Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society

Will Allen data visualisationResearchers across all subjects increasingly visualise their data and results to communicate key messages. But what affects how people perceive visualisations, and what can this understanding add to the ways that researchers work? The Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society (COMPAS) conducts world-leading research into the dynamics and impact of migration at local, regional, national and global local levels, in both theoretical and practical terms. Based on findings from the Seeing Data project, and showing real-world examples from The Migration Observatory, this talk will explore your visualisation literacy as well as show how visualisations can engage with audiences and enable future research.
