Last week witnessed some intense debates between the OxTALENT judges as they whittled down the entries to decide the winners, runners-up and honourable mentions in the seven competition categories. Once again there was an impressive range of entries and, in the case of data visualisations and conference posters, some very colourful ones.
As in recent years, OxTALENT has provided us with some great examples of innovative teaching with technology, which we will be sharing later in the year through our collection of case studies. Teams involved in outreach and public engagement activities have been similarly creative, particularly in the area of crowdsourcing.
Details of the award winners will be kept under wraps until the ceremony (invitation-only) on Tuesday 14 June, and we’ll announce them the next day in the final issue of News from Academic IT for this term.
The competition committee thanks everyone who has entered this year’s OxTALENT and would also like to acknowledge the valuable contribution made by our invited judges.
