We host online collections of open educational resources (OER) which can be used by the public at any time, but particularly on National Poetry Day. In addition to the famous First World War Poetry Archive which has been cited in hundreds of academic publications; and the University of Oxford Text Archive; we also have a large collection of podcasts of, and about, poetry and poetry resources specifically for schools in our Great Writers Collection. Our collections hold many unique treasures including young British poets competing for the Tower poetry prize, a history of the Eighteenth Century in ten poems, the war diaries of Vera Brittain and our Deputy CIO reading Beowulf.
“The Oxford initiative has provided academics and the public with an unprecedented research resource, and is set to provide a model for others in the sector to follow.”
“Times Higher Educational Supplement”, 17 July 2008
