More than a third (38 per cent) of  academic staff at Oxford, including 30 per cent of teaching and research staff and 43 per cent of research-only staff, are citizens of foreign countries.  Our colleagues come from 85 different countries. The largest groups of international academic staff are from the USA, Germany, China and Hong Kong, Australia, France and Italy. The number of international academic staff at Oxford has risen by 57 per cent in just five years (2003-2008). Although I have often seen work being done to support international students, there seems to be a dearth of materials to support international stff who arrive to work in UK HE.

The best resource I know of is the rather splendid Internationalstaff.ac.uk. I recommend the resources, videos and helpful guides. if you are not new to the Uk, this is still a useful site for clearly written introductory guides to all aspects of HE.
