to teachers direct

johnson50-dyl-0001-0I am pleased to report that selected Oxford OER is now appearing as part of the Times Educational Supplement website.

TESconnect is the online portal for the Times Educational Supplement. It provides access to online versions of the magazine, forum, jobs, newsletter etc. It also includes a ‘Teaching Resources’ section where teachers share and download free lesson plans, classroom resources, revision guides and curriculum worksheets. Content in the Teaching Resources is for use in schools, they do not currently provide any specific University-level content.

TES offers content to support and inspire teachers across the world by giving them free access to the best teaching resources available. We will benefit from the free promotion of our materials through various channels including the TES website, newsletters and magazine. The website quotes 9.5 million visits a month, over 22.7 million registered online users in over 276 countries and territories , it is the world’s largest online network of teachers. More than 3.6 million resources are downloaded from the TES website a week , with eight TES resources downloaded a second. The potential audience is huge and could significantly extend the reach of Oxford’s open content directly to school teachers and students around the world. TES send out weekly email newsletters to a targeted subscriber list of over 650,000 registrants across a range of subjects, the resource pages cover features on available resources in the website, and content collections are created on a topical basis each month.

We have begun with content topical for November – Remembrance Day

A fair bit of work has gone into preparing the materials for this audience,  and  we are handpicking our most appropriate resources, we are working closely with TES to identify what is most suitable and useful.
