The latest release includes two major new features:
- Much better handling of intermittent connection failures. If communication with the server fails the system now tries again 1 then 2 then 4 then 8 seconds later (and so on). A user can click to cause the system to try again immediately. Unlike before the order of messages is not rearranged during intermittent network failures. (Those who use Gmail while on the train or bus will recognise this scheme.)
- When there is no Internet connection it is possible to run with a server on the local area network. This will be necessary during the fieldwork in Cameroon scheduled in April.
