As a common disease in the UK, obesity is likely to lead to other diseases such as heart disease. It also has economical implications including the cost to employers, the National Health Service (NHS) and the government. A simple description of this disease is obesity affects someone who eats too much while doing too little exercise. In this interview, Dr Cecilia Lindgren talks about the links between this disease and genetics as well as how it may be treated or prevented.
