ABSTRACT

Making the decision to study at Oxford can be difficult, and pre-conceived ideas about what Oxford is like can be off-putting. Furthermore, once students arrive in Oxford, it can be an overwhelming experience, and Oxford’s current information provision for new starters is flat and fragmented.

Oxford 101 is an augmented reality walking tour, taking advantage of the latest web-based technologies to create an engaging and interactive experience that will help prospective students to understand what Oxford is all about; and enhances the orientation process for new starters.

By working with a technology partner, Oxford will lead the way in providing a unique AR-enhanced experience; and experiment with new ways of engaging with undergraduate and graduate students.
